Step by Step to Reading using phonics for the Caribbean: Blends and Long Vowel Sounds – Book 3

With its phonic base, this series has been designed for both adult and children learning to read. The features of each title are: the use of simple words that “work” by being sounded out; games and activities to make learning fun; the mastery over key words needed for literacy; a variety of methods for teaching of reading; and teaching notes to show how each page can best be used. The third book, “Blends and Long Vowel Sounds”, covers a range of topics from the blended sounds of consonants with short vowels, the adding of the silent “e” to make long vowel sounds, to “sound-alike” words in the writing of sentences. It also includes an assessment test which can be copied for use at home or in school.
